Yangarra Estate Old Vine Grenache 2013

Grape Variety: Grenache

Yangarra is a biodynamic wine farm in the northeast of the McLaren Vale region in South Australia. Our respect for this special piece of country is shown in the wines we make, every one is a confident reflection of the nature of this land. One of the more perfumed vintages, the Old Vine Grenache has pretty floral aromas and briary bright red fruits. The palate shows lots of bright cherry fruit, and the vineyard’s typical fine line of sandy mineral tannins and acidity.

“From bush vines planted ’46 in Blewitt Springs’ sandy soils; hand picked, mechanically sorted, 50% whole berries, cold soak, open fermented, wild yeast, on lees in used French oak for 9 month. Bright crimson; a Grenache with serious intent, its tightly focused and structured palate way above the norm, the pure core of bright red fruits precisely delineated and very long. For the long haul.” - Rated 95 Points, James Halliday
