Tahbilk 1927 Vines Marsanne 2007

Tahbilk 1927 Vines Marsanne 2007

Established in 1860 and purchased by the Purbrick family in 1925, Tahbilk is located in the premium Central Victorian viticultural region of Nagambie Lakes. Tahbilk is the oldest continously operating winery in Victoria and one of the oldest in Australia. A member of Austalia’s First Families of Wine.
1927 is the year the Marsanne vines were planted, they are considered to amongst the oldest Marsanne vines in the world. The vine-age gives an added layer of complexity to this Victorian classic. The  fruit is harvested early at high natural acid levels, with the resultant wine ‘water white’ and having almost no flavour. Once bottled the magic then happens over time as it evolves into a wonderful, textural, mineral wine … it’s a classic ugly duckling to beautiful swan story.
