Louis Roederer Vintage 2008

Grape Variety: Champagne

Louis Roederer has long been fascinated by the diversity of aromatic expression of Pinot Noir in Champagne, and has always focused on the structure and power of the Pinot Noirs from the Montagne de Reims, where the north-northeast facing vines are slower to ripen resulting in cuvees which need time to evolve. The Vintage cuve is aged, on average, for 4 years in Louis Roederer's cellars and left for 6 months after disgorging to attain optimal maturity.

"Pinot noir (70 per cent) asserts itself with a rich, red-fruited bouquet and lots of almond-meal and glacé-fruit complexity. Partial oak fermentation adds extra depth and richness to the intense, long-lasting palate" Peter Bourne, Qantas Magazine December 2015
