A wine that pays homage to its label’s beginnings, the Credaro Kinship Shiraz is a multi-award winning example of how exceptional Margaret River reds can be. Earthy, brooding and intense, it’s also a wine that manages to out-shiraz most other shirazes.
The Credaro label was founded by two pioneering brothers who were key in establishing Margaret River as one of the preeminent winemaking regions of Australia. This wine, created by combining grapes from two separate vineyards, represents the kinship shared by the Credaro Brothers.
The wine more than does justice to their memory, having collected a slew of awards from the Australian Shiraz Challenge, the West Australian Wine Show and others. It is characterised by its rich and concentrated palate which persists seemingly interminably before finally finishing with a flurry of elegant tannins.
Dark cherry, plum and forest fruits abound, with rich spice and earthen textures further adding to the intensity of the experience. These deep notes are lightened ever so slightly by hints of violet, herbs and autumn leaf, and the 14 months spent in 20% new French barriques serve to add a layer of complexity.
The Credaro Kinship Shiraz is best served with stodgy dishes with heavily seasoned red meats. A Sunday roast will make for the perfect gastronomic partner in crime.
The average price per bottle is only available in a case of 6.
